Rasiel Vellos is a Senior Economist at the ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ in the Development Data Group since May 2012. In his role, he oversees the compilation of external debt reported to the ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ Debtor Reporting System (DRS), the production of external debt statistics of low-and middle-income countries published on the International Debt Statistics (IDS) database, and in the International Debt Report (IDR) publication. In addition, he leads the data compilation and dissemination of the quarterly external debt statistics (QEDS) a ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳/IMF data initiative. Prior to joining the ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳, he worked for the Central Bank of Belize as an Economist, where he also led the Statistical Unit. Rasiel holds a Master¡¯s of Economics from Murray State University, USA.
