Peter Wisner is the Executive Director for the United States since April 2025. Mr. Wisner previously served as Senior Advisor to the Executive Director in the same office (2022-2025).
Prior to joining the WBG Board, Mr. Wisner served as Director, International Finance & Macroeconomics, at the U.S. National Security Council (2021-2022). He also held positions in the U. S. Department of the Treasury as Director of the Office of Global Economics & Debt (2018-2021), Director of the Office of Energy & Infrastructure (2015-2018), Deputy Director of the Middle East and North Africa Office (2013-2014), and Senior Advisor to the Assistant Secretary for International Markets & Development (2009-2011). Additionally, Mr. Wisner was the Financial Attach¨¦ at the U.S. Embassy in Abu Dhabi (2014-2015); Professional Staff, Senate Foreign Relations Committee at the U.S. Congress (2011-2013); and Senior Advisor to the U.S. Director at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (2006-2008).
