Patricia Veevers-Carter

Country Manager for Papua New Guinea, East Asia and Pacific

Patricia Veevers-Carter is the ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ Country Manager for Papua New Guinea based in Port Moresby. She leads the ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳¡¯s policy dialogue and manages overall program delivery.

Prior to this assignment, Patricia was the ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ Country Manager for Tajikistan, based in Dushanbe. She previously held the position of a Sector Manager for Transport, ICT and Energy in the ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳¡¯s Middle East and North Africa Region, where she focused on regional connectivity in these sectors. Prior to this position, from 2005 to 2011 Patricia was the Manager of the Global Partnership on Output-Based Aid, a ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳-administered trust fund, piloting results based financing through performance-based subsidies to ensure the delivery of basic services to the poor, such as water, sanitation, energy, and health.

Patricia also previously served as the Manager of the Infrastructure and Oil and Gas Unit at the ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ Group¡¯s Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), which provides guarantees for cross-border investments by private sector companies in emerging markets. She also served as a Country Manager for MIGA in Paris, where she was responsible for working with European and African counterparts.

Prior to joining the ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ Group, Patricia worked in project finance at the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB), and the Dutch Development Bank, FMO. She qualified as a Chartered Accountant at KPMG, and is a graduate of the London School of Economics.
