On November 30, 2018, the ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ Group hosted a short seminar for a delegation of attorneys from the Shanghai Bar Association, who were participating in a multi-week program with the International Law Institute in Washington, DC. The seminar was facilitated by the ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳'s Office of Suspension and Debarment (OSD) and the WBG Sanctions Board Secretariat (SBS).
The event introduced the delegation to various aspects of the ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ Group's operations and the Bank's efforts to identify and mitigate integrity risks. Participants were especially interested in the ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ Group's sanctions system and had opportunity to discuss the Bank Group's procedures and policies to this effect in an open roundtable format. OSD and SBS warmly thank Joseph Mauro of the ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ Group's Integrity Vice Presidency for his substantive contribution to the seminar and in-depth discussion of internal corporate controls.
