Looking out to the future; the firm will also assess what are the conditions required for effective restoration and achieving the government¡¯s target for forest cover in Vision 2040 (i.e.; 24% of land area under forests); and using the framework of ¡°protect; regenerate/restore; and afforest¡± determine areas for restoration and present a prioritization that is based on institutional and economic feasibility. The analysis will draw on the work done for the country climate and development report that assessed potential land use changes out to 2050 that aligned with the government¡¯s growth aspirations; agricultural suitability and ecosystem opportunities; and identify areas suitable for restoration based on the above mentioned approach.
