About DFSP

ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ Group¡¯s Donor Funded Staffing Program (DFSP) is financed by donor governments. The objective of the DFSP is to contribute to the ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳'s diversity targets and capacity building efforts through the recruitment of junior and mid-career professionals in headquarters and country offices.

The program allows donors and the Bank to leverage their development agendas more strategically. The DFSP consolidates two previous stand-alone donor funded programs ¡ª Junior Professional Officers and Externally Funded Staffing.

 

What do we offer you?

Salaries and benefits are 100% funded by DFSP donors. Participating donors are Australia, Austria, Belgium, Cote d¡¯Ivoire, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany (including GIZ), Hungary, Iceland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

Participation is coordinated between partner countries and the Bank. DFSP-eligible positions are advertised by the donor countries at a national level (by ministries, government agencies, etc.) and qualified candidates are put forward by donors. The Bank makes all final hiring decisions.
 

What are the eligibility criteria?


Junior Professional Officers (JPOs):

  • Master¡¯s degree with a minimum of three years of relevant experience.
  • Fluency in English is essential. Fluency in another ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ language is desirable (Arabic, Chinese, French, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish).
  • Grade Level: UC (ungraded)


Mid-career Professionals (formerly EFSP):

  • Master¡¯s degree and a minimum of five years of relevant experience (depending on grade level).
  • Fluency in English is essential. Fluency in another ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ language is desirable (Arabic, Chinese, French, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish).
  • Grade: GF Level and above.

Consultants

Extended Term Consultants (ETC)

12-month contracts with partial benefits. Benefits include medical insurance, leave, and 15% premium upon termination of the appointment. ETCs are renewable for a life-time cap of three years.

Short Term Consultants (STC)

STCs have a 150-day (or less) contract per fiscal year with no benefits. STCs working in Fragile States are eligible to work up to 190 days per fiscal year. Health insurance plans are made available for independent purchase.

Terms and Conditions

An applicant must be a national of the donor country. Candidates with dual citizenship must indicate this information in their application. For candidates with U.S. dual citizenship, the U.S. citizenship prevails.

Participants are assigned to ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ headquarters in Washington, D.C. or to a country office.

Donor funding is available for up to three years (additional funding is potentially available from the ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ Group). Business needs, individual performance, and donor funding can affect the length of the assignment.

Apart from the source of funding and the nationality tie, DFSP participants will be governed by the same HR rules and policies as any other ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ Group staff.
