ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ Country Director for the Maghreb and Malta

Ahmadou Moustapha Ndiaye is ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ Country Director for the Maghreb and Malta, based in Rabat, effective July 1, 2024. In this role, Mr. Ndiaye leads the ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳'s strategic partnerships in the Maghreb and Malta and oversees a financing portfolio of $11.5 billion, as well as the provision of innovative knowledge and advisory services. He also steers the ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳'s efforts in supporting Algeria, Libya, Malta, Morocco, and Tunisia in achieving their respective development priorities, including inclusive growth, private sector job creation, climate resilience, critical infrastructure access, and human capital development, especially for women and youth.

With more than 34 years of professional experience in the private sector and international development, Mr. Ndiaye brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He joined the ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ as a Financial Management Specialist in 1998, and prior to this assignment, he was the ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳'s Director of Strategy & Operations for Equitable Finance & Inclusive Growth. His extensive tenure within the ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ has seen him hold various operational and leadership positions in Africa, Latin America, Europe, and Central Asia.

Before joining the ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳, Mr. Ndiaye was a manager at Ernst & Young in Senegal, where he audited and provided advisory services to corporate clients on restructuring, reorganization, corporate finance, and business valuation. Mr. Ndiaye holds a master's degree in finance and accounting, as well as business administration; he graduated from Ecole Sup¨¦rieure de Commerce de Paris (now ESCP Business School) in France and is also a certified public accountant. Mr. Ndiaye fluently speaks English and French, in addition to his native Wolof, and has a solid grasp of German and Spanish.
